I’ve been a huge fan of the barn, both coffee and its cafes, and was so glad to find it in Munich. I had to go fora drip coffee to really get the flavour profiles of their vast bean variety. Mind you, the drip (V60) coffee option is quite pricey but you also get more than a cups worth of drink, so if you want to splurge and are a coffee fan, I’d recommend that over milk drinks to really get the best of the product selection here. They will have multiple bean offerings on the spot so you can try whatever mostly suits your liking. The pastry menu is not so varied but it was nice nevertheless. And finally, you can buy beans at the shop and they have so many options I continue to love the barn.

The cappuccino in this place is SO GOOD. Top quality, for real. Also the cheesecake was delicious. It's a quite expensive spot but considering the quality, I would say it's worth it. The place is really small and there is not much space to sit down, and I also believe that the seats outside could have some tables you make it more comfortable to eat outdoors.

The best coffee in Germany! Tried it at Berlin the first time and then saw it at Munich. My go to coffee shop. The iced americano, cappuccino and iced matcha are great

The Barn Café at Tal is a small Munich (München) outpost of Berlin-based The Barn specialty coffee chain and roastery. The café offers espresso and filter-coffee from single-origin or even single-estate beans, lightly roasted to bring out distinct flavors. This marks a significant milestone for Munich, where specialty coffee scene was sadly desolate; many seem to think offering flat white qualifies as third-wave coffeehouse, and local roasteries incinerate beans to achieve leathery taste. We met two particularly delightful baristas, as shown in an attached photo. A gentleman with eyeglasses who overflows with passion and knowledge about coffee, and a charming young lady with genuinely welcoming smile. The café may be cramped, but these folks fill it with contagious energy and enthusiasm. Highly recommended.

Berlin-origin chain expansion to Munich, with 2 locations right in the city center — Altstadt and Göockenbach. Stylish interior, friendly baristas, silky flat whites and some unique sorts of beans as well as matcha & pastries available.

Very nice coffee and friendly service. A bit pricy but it's like that all over Germany now.

I have known this brand for a long time, and was delighted to find that it was still open on Sunday, the second day I arrived in Munich. It was a rainy day and this little café was packed. All the staff there spoke fluent English and were very friendly. My college was happy to find a girl speaking Chinese so that he could order on his own. The long black surprised me with a flavor that's got a lively sourness, sweetness and light bitterness balance, held by a rich body. I bought two bags of coffee beans, one from the first time I was there, and the barista who seemed to have expert filter coffee skills recommended a Honduras natural for me, and the second was recommended by the Chinese-speaking girl because I told her that I wanted the one with a taste of blueberry. It turned out to be really great. I also visited the bigger shop near the Tal shop in the next week, but I found myself preferring this one and thought the service was better. I'd really love to go to this café again when I visit Munich next time. The friendliness of the Chinese-speaking girl and the Greek guy left me a great impression.
